Welcome to WidgetDevCamp
WidgetDevCamp is a DevCamp/BarCamp-style event for anyone interested in modular social app develpment -- widgets, Facebook, OpenSocial, the works. It will be a chance for discussion, learning, and maybe even some collaborative hacking. The goal is to share information on the latest topics in social app and widget development, going past the hype and gettign into the guts.

How Does it Work?
We get everyone together on a weekend -- drinks and hanging out on Friday night, then sessions the next day. It's a BarCamp agenda, so everyone brings their ideas for sessions -- get as hands-on as you want -- then we self-select the sessions and start having fun. If folks want, they can even get together to collaborate on building some stuff. Bring your laptop!
We're collecting some session ad project ideas before the event, to give folks some inspiration (add to them at WidgetDevCampSessionIdeas and WidgetDevCampWidgetIdeas), but these are just to get the juices flowing -- the sessions and projects can be totally pre-planned or made up on the spot. Usually the more spontaneous it is, the more fun. We'll provide food, drinks, games, developer support, whatever you need. If you build something, you get to demo. If you want to lead discussions, go for it. If you want to come and learn, that's great too (though come ready to contribute).
Who's Invited?
Designers, product folks, security experts, tech strategists, and developers of all kinds. All are welcome, and you can even just come for the brainstorming and networking if you really want. Keep in mind, though, that the space requires skills of all kinds -- it's not just about code-writing, so join the fun.
